Gundam updates

This piece of news warrants its own post but I thought I might group it all together. The first piece of news is like an otaku wet dream! It has been announced in Hobby Japan the bad boy the alpha and omega (in my opinion) is soon to be released in Perfect Grade glory, Strike Freedom!!! I cant wait to update you guys on this kits development it is due for a December release! Cant wait I'm giggling like a school girl.

Okay the next two items to talk about are from the 00 movie and its manga renditions. 00 Full Sword Mode the add on parts will be released as a magazine special for the 1/144 00Q (00 Quanta) the Fullsword mode finally counterbalances the lopsided appearance of 00Q and I love it!

Here is a standard kit from the 00 Movie. Harute is easily my favourite design from this series! The upcoming 1/144 format Gundam model looks so overpowering in my opinion I think its more mean than the 00Q!

BAKUC souvenir pin

First of before we begin this entry I would like to thank the Otakuologist for becoming a follower. The last few updates were related to BAKUC so continuing in this fashion I thought we shall continue with the trend. As the event drew to a close all the entrants were given a pin for participating in the event. HEHEHEHE It's actually quite embarassing that I got one since I did not even finish my model for the competition. At least Kenji and Sok did ODU proud! Well done guys you did SOOOOOOOOOOO well.

Absence from Smash

As Kenji says I now have a 3D girlfriend. Her name is Cathryn (Kitty, Cat) minus the mush of loving her like crazy I'll tell you guys what I did on Smash Saturday. Well pardon the pun it wasn't as smashing as Kenji's BAKUC adventure but I did do fellow otaku's proud regardless. Cat and I were supposed to go to Smash but because we didnt get advanced tickets they already sold out before 11 am.

Well it was a bit of a setback as I really wanted to go BUT I didn't let it get the better of me! I just happened to buy all I need elsewhere! Okay what did Hiroki buy!!!!??? First of all I completed the collection, I have a full set of legitimate Code Geass DVDs now... Awesome! WATCH CODE GEASS LELOUCH V BRITANNIA DEMANDS IT!!! I had to go to JB World Square and JB Galleries Victoria to complete the missing R2 Volumes (the first season was purchased earlier this year).

At the next stop Cat wanted to go to Morning Glory I didn't expect to find anything that will appeal to me but yep I did end up buying something. Megatron and Optimus chibi sized keyrings they are so cool I have them at work right now!

All in all I stayed true to my otakuism hehehe Id like to take this opportunity to apologise for not finishing my BAKUC entry but I promise to pick up the slack I got more modelling projects planned hehehehehe.

Revoltech Yamaguchi No EX New Theatrical Evangelion Set.

It is not often that toy companies would look after your wallet being a fan of Evangelion and once owning a set of models for my own I know how prestigious it feels to have the entire line up! Thanks to Revoltech's new Yamaguchi Theatrical Evangelion set it is now possible!

The offering doesnt stop at action figures alone. The set includes optional parts, hands and even additional weapons and for less than ten thousand yen its really bang for your buck! This set will hit stores in October I'm sure it'll be a cracking success!

Smash 2010

Smash 2010, the first and last year that the event will be at the Sydney Townhall...but more on that later.

Pardon the pun guys, but this year's event was a smashing success, the tickets to the event sold out by around 11am. And since the building capacity was rather small, it meant that no more tickets were sold. So lesson learnt here is that if you're able to purchase the advance tickets then do so, it will not only save you time but also money.

If anyone has been to previous Smash events will know of the usual fare. This years event has a new addition, and that is the Hobbyco and Bandai BAKUC competition. Sok and I both entered with our models, Hiroki, who was the instigator to get us involved withdrew. His reason, spending time with his 3D girlfriend, I have yet to sit down and have a serious talk to him about that, he needs to get his priorities right. Anyhoo, it was actually a rush job to get both models ready for the event, but at the end of it all we were both very happy with the outcome and had a lot of fun planning and building our custom models...not to mention getting high on the fumes.

But I'll rather let the pics that I took do the talking. But for 2011, the Smash event will be held at the Convention Centre at Darling Harbor. I can't think of a better place to hold the event, and if you feel like Cosplaying, Cockle Bay will offer a splendid backdrop for any photographs that will be taken on the day...weather permitting that is.
Setting up on Friday afternoon
